Father's Day 2015, Museum and Fun in the Sun

Father's Day 2015
We had a fun day!  We started by taking the boys to sing with their VBS kids and then we went to visit King and Ellen.  They had been traveling for almost a month and got home Saturday night and the boys were so ready to see them!!  Then we came home and Tim grilled steaks and corn on his new grill!!!  We also had baked potatoes and hot fudge sundaes for dessert.  We got Tim a grill for Father's Day.  We are a charcoal family and our old one was 7 1/2 years old and the legs were about to fall off!  The boys picked the new one out and I put it together last Monday!
I can't say enough how wonderful of a Dad Tim is!  He works so hard during the week  and when he comes home he will always play a little baseball with the boys, draw pictures or whatever else they want him to do!  THANK YOU Tim for being a Wonderful Daddy and Husband!  We love you!

Hudsen playing while Daddy cooked!  He actually ate his steak!!!  That is huge folks.  Course he wanted to dip his in mayo but hey whatever gets him to eat some meat!!

Nolen playing a little baseball while Daddy cooked.  This boy loves meat, especially if he has ketchup!!

Update on our Summer so far:

Nolen playing with his train!

Hudsen drawing a fun picture!

Day 1 of VBS!  This is the first year the boys have gone to VBS!  They LOVED it and are really sad it is over!  They had such a fun week!

We have a membership to the Children's Museum now and we are so glad!!  We love the museum.  Our first visit of the Summer!  They have the most awesome dinosaur exhibit right now!  This was our first time to see it and the boys loved it!  We had to make three trips back to play with the dinosaurs.  We were there for 3 hours!  We plan to make it a once a week trip!  We love that place!

They are just so cute!!  This exhibit stays until September and I am so glad because they love but also because Ashton is coming out with my Dad this summer and he will love it too!

My boys are not big on swimming and swimming pools.  They mainly don't like to put their face in the water.  So I found this $20 pool and we have spent just about every day and evening out in the pool!  They love it!

Watching a little TV after coming back inside!

This cool bright orange dragonfly decided to hang out with us the other day!  Such a pretty thing!

I got this recipe for crock pot chicken tacos off of pinterest and was really excited to try it!  It is three ingredients and super easy!  They were SOOO YUMMY!  I wish I could remember how to put in a link to her page but here is the recipe.

4-6 Thawed chicken breasts
1 pkg of  taco seasoning (any brand) I used great value
1-16  oz. jar of salsa (any brand) I used pace-medium

Put all these in crock pot and cook on high for 4-6 hours or low for 6-8 hours.  Then shred with fork and start building your tacos!!

We had black beans, chicken, sour cream and cheese but you can make them with whatever you love!  They were so very yummy!

Kindergarten is over and Surprise trip to Legoland!

Hudsen is officially a First Grader!!  Instead of a Kindergarten graduation, they put on a Rainbow Fish Musical.  Hudsen was the Best little Octopus in the Sea!  They all did a wonderful job and it was so cute!  After the musical, they handed out a Kindergarten certificate!  I can't believe I have a first grader!

Hudsen and Miss H!

The Last Day of Kindergarten!!  We are ready for Summer!

So, Hudsen made a wonderful friend in Kindergarten, Alex.  Their story is so cute.  At meet the teacher night last August, they sat beside each other and looked at each other and said, "We are going to be best friends!"  I also made friends with Alex's mom, MJ and a few months ago we threw around the idea of taking the kids to Legoland.  MJ got an email a few days later at work for discounted tickets to Legoland and we took that as God telling us to go!!!  So we planned a trip and kept it a secret from the boys.  On the last day of school, we picked up the kiddos and gave them their end of school surprise!  They were beyond Excited and we left an hour later for CA!!

Six hours later, after some crazy events in Victorville, we arrived at our hotel!!  I can't even tell you how good of a deal we scored with this two bedroom/two bathroom suite!!

We had to make them get in bed with a movie or they would have been up all night!!

My sweet boys!!

Our hotel was within walking distance, so we woke up and headed to Legoland!!

Our first ride was a little cruise ship and a perfect way to start!!

Next up: Lego Miniland and we found our way to Vegas!!

The Star Wars Exhibit was Awesome!!

He was in heaven!!

Nolen talking to our lizard friend!

Tim met us after getting some sleep and we rode our first ride together!!

Legos everywhere!!

The boys rode their first roller coasters and had a blast!!!

Most rides had a place for the kids to play while waiting.....Genius!!

Big slide!

A fun little jousting ride!

We made our way back to the Pirate Reef section and it was right next to the water park so the rides were more water rides.  Tim thought this would be a good idea, without swimsuits, and we got SOAKED!!!  Like down to our underwear soaked!!

Nolen was not impressed and still talks about how he doesn't want to go on that ride again!!

A little twisty pirate ship to help dry off!!

Lego boat ride!!

My handsome little driver!

Then we headed over to Driving School!  Nolen went first!

Then Hudsen and Alex were up!

Everyone got a driver's license!

Lego Movie Experience!

The next day we woke up, put on our swimsuits and headed over for some more fun!!

We went to the Sea Life Aquarium first!!

Making water bottle fish!

Story time with Diver Matt!

Back to Legoland for a few more rides and then over to the Water Park!

First we meet Emmet!

Then we rode our third roller coaster and Safari ride!

We went to the Water Park for a couple of hours and then back out to the main park and rode some of our favorite rides again!  This picture wrapped up our visit to Legoland!!  We had a blast and the boys want to go back!  We rode every ride and saw every feature and made some wonderful memories!

Sunday we checked out of our hotel and headed to the beach!  Our boys LOVED the beach and keep asking if we can go back!!!

Playing a little catch!

Me and my boys!!  Hudsen loved standing in the water with the waves coming in!!

This was such a fun trip!!  We had fun every single day, rode every ride, saw every exhibit, played at the water park, saw the aquarium, played with friends, spent a few hours at the beach and made LOTS of memories!!!!!   It was the PERFECT way to start our Summer break!!
