4th of July 2012

What a wonderful day we had celebrating America!!!  The weather could not have been better.  It rained from about noon-5pm but that did not keep us from swimming!!!  At 5pm it stopped and was a perfect 75 degrees for supper and fireworks!  We spent the morning getting our dishes ready to take to Beth and G's.  I was in charge of hot dog buns, watermelon and the boys and I made a flag cake!  I got really festive and cut the watermelon into star shapes!!  We had hamburgers, hot dogs and brats with potato salad, watermelon and corn on the cob!!  Another wonderful cookout!  After eating and swimming, we set off some of our own fireworks and then headed to our spot for the firework show.  The Station Casinos out here have a firework show and we are closest to Red Rock Station Casino so we watch theirs.  There is an open lot across the street from them and that is where we have gone the past two years!  This year both boys were awake and stayed outside to watch the fireworks!  They loved them and it was another wonderful firework show!!!

I thought I loaded more pictures of the fireworks but I guess not!  They were great and we had a wonderful time!!!  We are proud to be Americans!!!!

Champs!

Tim plays softball on Mondays and Fridays.  The boys and I try to always go on Friday because it is at a really cool park, Big League Dreams.  They have built replicas of a few major league ballparks and they are really nice. They have a clubhouse with food, drinks, table & chairs, tv's and air conditioning.  When it gets dark we will head outside to watch and Hudsen loves going to the games.  We like the people Tim plays with and a couple of them have kids that Hudsen plays with.  Last night was their tournament and they WON!!!!  The championship game was really fun to watch but it ended at 10:15pm so it was WAY passed bedtime, which explains my tired look.  I tried to be the one to take the picture but one of the guys wouldn't let me and made me get in.  Hudsen was so proud and loved the trophy.  We explained that when he plays t-ball maybe his team will win a trophy like that and he can put it in his room!

Can I just start by saying that I LOVE pinterest!  I have found many wonderful things from recipes to crafts  to party ideas and much more.  I pinned this a while back and actually made it tonight!  Not only was it quick and easy but it was oh so good!  Definitely a summer salad must and will be made in our house again!!

Summer Fun!

We have been having lots of fun this summer!  Here's some of the things we have been doing!  We went to the park/water park with Lenzi and Spens!  We always have lots of fun with them!  Yesterday we went to the park/water park with Grandma and Bompa and again had tons of fun!!!  Today we got out the jump house and played outside while the weather was still nice this morning!  The boys had lots of fun and I got to enjoy a cup of coffee!!!  I can't believe that it's almost July!  Hope everyone is enjoying their summer too!!

I LOVE Christian radio and have heard this song just about every morning for the past week.  I find myself singing very loudly when it comes on.  This is a powerful song and I love it and really do want to "Live Like That!"  I just had to share it!

Father's Day 2012

Happy Father's Day!!

What another special day to celebrate the men!  I have also been fortunate to be surrounded by wonderful fathers!  When I married Tim, I knew I was marrying a wonderful man.  Then we had Hudsen and Nolen and I am seeing just how amazing he is as a dad too!  We certainly feel very blessed to have him!  I couldn't imagine sharing this journey with anyone else!  I am also so very glad that my boys have my dad and Tim's dad as grandfathers.  My dad is so very special to me and I learned so much from him!  He always took care of us and was a great example for us.  I am so blessed to have a father-in-law like King.  He has always treated me as his own and I am so thankful for that!  They both are wonderful with our boys and love them so much!  My grandad (dad's side) is still with us and I am thankful we have him.  What another wonderful example of a man that I love so much.  I was also fortunate to have another wonderful grandad (Papa-mom's dad) and a great grandad (Grandpappy-dad's side).  Two amazing men that I loved very much that make me smile when I think of them and the fun we had!  I love all these men very much and am so grateful that God blessed our lives with each one of them!

We have had a wonderful day with Tim!  Breakfast, present time, movie time-Madagascar 3 and supper will be starting soon!  I hope he knows how much we love him and are thankful for all he does for us!  We love you Tim!
